Small Game Place near 2B

Anyone have any tips where I can take my daughter to get her into small game hunting? I have been out of that loop for years and it seems like all the places I normally hunt are archery only or exclusive to "deer" only minds. Just looking for a place to walk, talk, and maybe shoot a .410 on occassion.

There is no such thing as a stupid question, just stupid people asking questions.

What part of 2B? The gamelands at wexford is stocked with pheasants, and has plenty of squirrel and rabbits. I run my beagles up there on occasion and always find rabbits.

I myself have been hunting SGL 203 and I can tell you, aside from the pheasants the PGC realeased there, there is not much small game at all.
I have taken my two boys there many times to do some squirrel hunting and nothing. There is plenty of available food, so I don't get it.
Talked to other hunters there as well and no one is seeing a thing! Wait, one hunter said he saw 'one' squirrel (woo hoo)Pretty frustrating.

Yea I've been looking for areas around here too but couldn't really find anywhere so I've taken to going up north. The gamelands in Butler County are decent but it's an hour and half each way so it's a little bit of a hike.

I live 4 miles from 203 and i promise its a waste of time, hey worst case you can hit up the shooting range, its great atleast. I say this based on hunting there quite a bit, i have HONESTLY only shot a few crows up there, dont let it stop you.... I did see a dead hen at the end of the road so it must be good for somthin! haha

Re: Small Game Place near 2B

I apologise for being negative aswell it did not adress you question, You could always go over to raccoon state park in beaver, i belive it to be 2a though, the whole place is open to hunting and not nearly the small game pressure if at all, you may not find pheasants but rabbits and squirels are common iv gone and haddays where iv shot and missed quite a few rabbits but i usually get maby 2 and squirels are easy hunt the very tops of the hills maby a wooded ridgeline, iv shot multiple ones in the same tree over there, probly not too far for you, its worth it. i have also flushed several woodcock a year if your into that... good luck
