Day off to hunt hoppers

We took today off and hit one on our early season spots near Clarks Summit
As has been the case all year so far, the bunnies were in good numbers.
We jumped about 2 dozen and had some really good running.
Ended up with 9 on the tailgate and some quality time on a few of the younger dogs.

It was a nice day too

Man I wish I could get into the bunnies like you guys do. Up here it seems it doesn't matter whether you are on private or public land, you jump a dozen rabbits and thats a good day. We usually get big running which eats up a lot of the day which is good, just not numbers.

Good work.

Nice!
I haven't been out much myself. I ran with my dad yesterday but didn't even carry shotguns. Had one of my dad's hounds out that came down with Lyme Disease. We didn't think he was going to make it at first but he kept up with the other dogs and seemed to be moving around ok. Keeping our fingers crossed.
Keep up the good work John.

Hi Gary, No the one in my left hand is Della's mother's littermate sister my Molly.
The one in my right hand is Molly younger brother Duke from the 3rd time we made the "Maggie" cross.
At 2 years old, he had a day. Probably the top hound on a what was a good day.

Here are a few pics of Della's brother Duke.
We have gunned him 3 days so far and taken about 20 rabbits and hare over him.
Really like him, has been steady and just about falt free so far.

Farthest right

Far left reaching for the rabbit

Chet this round of Lyme was really bad.
Hope your dog gets all the way better.
