Washington Co. pheasant hunting

Hi guys me and a few buddy's was wanting to try some new cover to hunt. We was thinking of heading down to Washington Co. to try our luck out. But we have never been there before and wanted to know if one sgl. was better than another to try? Not looking for anyones hot spot but just a general area to try and get in to some birds! Thanks for any and all help!

ive only small game hunted sgl 117, its normally hit or miss for me, I normally hunt without a dog but if you have few buddies and don't care to do a lot of walking you might flush some birds!

Re: Washington Co. pheasant hunting

Best place for ringnecks in Washington County is SGL 232, just north of Taylorstown. Not just stocked birds there, but also a (small) reproducing wild population. Plenty of stocked birds too, though.

Second best is SGL 117/Hillman State Park area near the Rt. 22/Rt. 18 interchange. It's normally stocked pretty well, although hunted pretty heavily too. Use Google maps to find the open fields and that's where the PGC puts the birds.

Good luck!

PAOutlaw, I just noticed you're from Fenelton. Have you been over to chase birds at the Glades at SGL 95 this year? If so, did you do any good?

Re: Washington Co. pheasant hunting

I might try to get up to SGL 95 over Thanksgiving, while my oldest daughter is home from school. Sounds like it might be worth the trip.

Thanks and good luck if you head down to Washington County.
