With most of our rabbit hunting chronies having "archery fever" this week, Janie and I headed for a farm that has always been good to us.
One of our buddies did tag along for a few hours but he headed for his tree stand about noon.
He had taken 2 rabbits so there are a couple missing from the pic.
We ran 3, 2, and 1 year old dogs with 1 year old Duke getting his first cottontail hunt in (he hunted hare in VT last month)
Once again he did a good job, held his own and showed well.
2 year old Cinder (Mag's daughter) "drove the bus" all day and did some great work on picked corn fields on a breezy chilly day.
If she can just harness all her ability, she can turn to a special hound. Right now, she tries to go too fast early in the hunts but settles nicely after a few hours.
3 year old Luke was a steady rock as always and kept everything together. Jumped the most rabbits and got a ton of recoveries. That's Luke never real flashy but always and asset to the hunt. Big Big nose on this guy.
The bunnies were in good numbers once again and we jumped about 20. Many went straight to holes but quite a few wanted to play.
We ended up with 8 by about 2PM and called it a day.
Here is a pic, again Sammy left with 2 rabbits earlier
in the day.
We won't talk about all the missing going on either LOL.
A really fun day. Nice big bunnies too.
