11/3 Rabbit Hunting

Rabbits weren't cooperating today, had the wife and step-son out to try for their first of the season.
I talked them up all week, lol.
A few good runs but the majority were to holes.

I positioned them in the best shooting lanes, most active routes i've had at this spot!
AND STILL the Rabbit runs straight at me, I raise, and pause waiting to see if it's going to turn right towards the firing squad, or left towards some holes.

He chose left and I watched as the 12g anchored him, and the dogs came up his trail seconds later.

Wife is convinced Trigger only runs rabbit to ME now.

Gunner, the black/tan pup got his first taste of victory today as well.

Re: 11/3 Rabbit Hunting

we'll have to do that. my dog won't pack with others, but will hunt alone with us. she had some major back issues in feb. and i'am just kinda seeing how she is going to work out. the vets told me she would not be able to hunt anymore, but seems to be doing alright. between sat and today she is moving a little slow, but may just be because she is a little out of shape. time will tell.

He is showing some promise at times. They were both on this scent trail.
He still seems to not get the point sometimes, but from what I have seen when on scent he picks up the checks quick, and gets trigger on scent again fast. Some days are better than others, but I bring him every time so he can pick it up.
Let me know if/when you want to run again and we will set it up.

Whatever you want to do, can run yours or mine, doesn't matter to me. Same goes for location, your neck of the woods or mine doesn't matter.

If Cris is willing to host one more we could all meet up and run rabbits.
He's just a little south of you if I recall correctly.
Nothing like putting you on the spot eh Cris?
