Re: SGL Pheasants

We're having a great time this year hunting pheasants too. Thanks PGC for increasing pheasant numbers. This should bring more hunters back into the small game camp.

Re: SGL Pheasants

Congrats to the pgc on the quality of these birds. They act and fly a lot like the wild birds did, especially after they have survived a few days.

Re: SGL Pheasants

Agreed! What a thrill it has been to hunt pheasant. This is my first year with dogs that are really ready to hunt so it has been really fun for me.

The roosters seem very wild, while the hens seem to be more tame, although I have seen a handful of wily hens. However, my dad says that even in MN and SD the hens are rather tame, while the roosters will run all day and keep you guessing. So maybe this is how all hens act, wild or stocked.

Re: SGL Pheasants

Agreed nice birds (and amount) this year. Shot a double in Berks Co., rooster/hen yesterday scouting for my son. Took him out today and put a double hen/hen up and he shot his first pheasant. Tried to get him to follow up on the second, but he was more interested in going home to show it off.
