There were sharptailed grouse in PA?

The deer didn't disappear.... the 250,000 guys who used to walk around and make the deer move did.

1934, 25 pair released near Valley Forge. If you look in your digest, small game seasons and bag limits it still says no open season on Hungarian Partridge and Sharptail Grouse at the bottom of the page.

1970 - Agency traded 200 wild-trapped ring-necked pheasants to South Dakota for 200 sharp-tailed grouse.

Funny, but in the '40's, we got 2000 pheasants from SD to stock in the northern tier.
