Took my Boykin and my CZ 28 out this morning and hunted my neighbors 100 acre piece with some great cover. In 2.5hrs I had 11 flushes. I had fleeting shots at 2 birds. A couple of the birds were huge. I found most all of them in the white pines, none in the hemlocks. Grouse hunting used to be my passion. I could kick myself for not going out more, rekindled the fire. Looking forward to next season!
This morning my wife and I walked down the valley road along the property I hunted yesterday. We flushed 3 birds. Of course one flew out into the open roadway and continued straight away for 40 or so yards....unlike yesterdays opportunities!
The fall should be great.
And my lil Boykin is a sweetheart.
