Quail Stocking

Does anyone know if there are any plans for the PGC to do future quail stockings. New Jersey stocks both quail and pheasant.

Re: Quail Stocking

If i'm not mistaken it was brought up and they're working on a management plan? in my opinion the habitat just isn't there anymore for a sustainable population. and plus, more than 50% of hte state never had the shrubby, miniamlly wooded habitat anyways. couple that with a lack of interest and heritage and i just dont see hte pgc spenidng the money.

Re: Quail Stocking

I am not talking about a management plan...I am talking about put/take like the PGC does now for pheasant...

Re: Quail Stocking

Quail are a lot of fun, especially for guys with pointing dogs....I am sure they cost a lot less than pheasants...Besides, they are a true native bird to PA, whereas pheasants are from China....don't get me wrong I prefer pheasants, but quail would be a nice addition....
