Re: bunny hunt ?

No, it doesn't matter how many people hunt with the dog. As long as the dog can circle rabbits there is no reason 6 people would be too many.

With only 1 dog on the ground you may have to do a little more brush kicking, just because one dog can't cover as much ground as say 4 dogs. For me it's nice to see a dog solo a rabbit back to the gun, there are too many out there that can't get it done by themselves.

Re: bunny hunt ?

I look at it like this. The more hunters that you have scattered around means the chase should end quicker so the dog can get another one going quicker.

Re: bunny hunt ?

I love watching a dog solo a rabbit to the gun! I only have 2 beagles and sometimes take only one out and its always a fun time. The more guns the better.

Re: bunny hunt ?

Its not how many guys per dog, its how many guys for the area you are hunting. Can get crowded in some places.

Its nice to let the dog run solo when hunting, but its more fun with a bunch. Love that sound. I run my dog pretty much solo all year except when hunting so i know he can do it by himself.
