I'm bored and my dog needs a good run. I'm thinking of trying to find the last pheasant in central PA. I know the releases were way down this year but I'm hoping a bird or two might still be hiding out there. I'll probably hunt SGL 169 sometime this week. Has anybody seen any pheasants lately, or am I just chasing ghosts?
SGL 249 might still have a few birds left. It gets a healthy stocking throughout the fall, like 169 does. You better be ready to get in the brush though, and be prepared for a possible blood transfusion from all the briars!
Make sure there is an open season where you go. Some parts of the state don't have a second season. SGL 249 does not have a second season. I think sgl 169 is close to the cut off for the second season so be sure to check it out before you go hunting.
