1 and done!

Decided to hit the squirrel woods for an hour or two after class. Figured since the rain/snow finally cleared out and the sun was shining, hopefully the squirrels would come out. Well, wind died down to nothing, and I picked a nice spot where I had been seeing some big fox squirrels. Well, wasn't too long and here comes one about 80-90 yards away, coming out of it's nest and down the tree. I had decided I wanted to only shoot fox squirrels tonight and take head shots only as this place is generally polluted with squirrels and I wanted to concentrate on fox squirrels. Well this one hit the ground and went the other way, but came back with a mouth full of leaves and headed back to the nest. WEll i've played this game before, and know it'l be back down go get more leaves. So I got up and moved about 30 yards closer and sat back down against a big oak tree. Sure enough, here it comes back down the tree. never stops to give me a shot, but comes back with a mouth full of leaves. Back up the tree it goes and into the nest... about a minute later it appears coming back down, but this time stops on a limb facing me and I put the cross hairs between it's eyes and squeeze the trigger. Squirrel didn't ever flinch, jsut came straight down outta the tree. Only squirrel I saw all night. I'm thinking this one will score Chip and Dale though! Will see after the minimum 30 day drying period.

And ya gotta have a meat pole pic!!

Re: 1 and done!

I guess you have extra time this semester since you don't have aChemistry class.lol Six of those would make a good meal at the cabin.

Enjoy life and take a hike on the AT.

Love the makeshift gambrel, were you sure to cut the tenderloins out first?

Chip and Dale, meat pole. I love it.

Hunt with your kids not for them.
