We had a really good day today.
Didn't start that way as 10 of the first 11 bunnies we jumped went straight to holes. That was frustrating.
We kept working and the rabbits down towards the swamp in the back of this spot decided that they would play.
Big mistake by them. We jumped another 10 rabbits and 7 of these ended up in the stew pot.
Even had one that Todd hit run straight out 600 yards till 1 year old Cinder caught it and was standing guard over the dead bunny when we got there. Wish we had a pic. of that.
Mag was back off the bench and her feet held up well, She performed steady as ever, but it was the young ones that showed a bit of coming of age. We had 1,2, and 3 year old hounds and they all showed really well. Todd's Chase had a really good day, jumped the most rabbits and my 2 year old Luke had one of his better performances on cottontails.
Here is mom and daughter after the hunt.
Cinder at just over 1 year old is fast becoming a first line performer, lot to live up to with a mother like hers.
Had a blast great to have a hard working buddy like Todd. Always coming up with new spots and is no slouch in the brush either.
Hounds did Janie proud. She loves it when she sees pups that were born in her hands become first rate hunters,
And all these dogs were delivered by my great wife.
Doesn't get much better than this
