Help - central PA grouse hunters

I'm heading west tomorrow with my 15 year old son, hoping to see some grouse activity. We have been frustrated with pheasant hunting in Monto Co, so hopefully we see some grouse. I have heard about SGL 80 and,or 264. Thoughts on either? Not looking for anyone's honey hole, just looking to hopefull get a flush or 2! Any input is greatly appreciated

Burrs,
If you want to hunt North East PA game lands give me a shout. I always want to help out the kids. Do you have a dog?

How far up in NE PA are you talking about? I don't mind a drive if it's not too far from Montco.

Nope, no dog. Just me and my son. We did end up going hunting but didn't have any luck.

Re: Help - central PA grouse hunters

Have a look on dcnr's web site for a listing of clear cuts and when they where done. Four to six year old cuts can prove to be gold mines. You can also give them a ring they are more than happy to help you out. I stopped in the office on the way back from penn. grand canyon, had a guy print me out all kind of good stuff for that. Good luck...
