Took the day off from work since I had to pick up my daughter in State College as she had just finished her first semester at Penn State. Decided to take a quick hunt in the morning before Lilly and I headed down to pick her up. Lilly ended up pointing 17 birds by noon and I knocked down a limit. Some pics from the hunt.
Lilly picking up the first bird. Just prior to this, I wiffed on a group of 5 birds. Four came out of the second group.
The second bird was a single that came out of a huge barberry patch. I knew I didn't hit it good and after about 10 minutes of Lilly searching, I began to wonder if she would find it. I can't remember the last time Lilly couldn't find a cripple. Just as I began doubting her, her bell went silent.
About 10 yards in front of her was the bird. After a quick chase through the barberry, she brought the bird back
A couple of points from Lilly. The second one looks great but it was actually a porcupine. Nice looking point though.
Brush, good luck next week, I'll be out too...I hope this good weather holds up.
Pheasant, to post pictures, what I did was establish a photobucket account then you can copy and past the IMG image for the photo you want to post. It is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. If I can do it, anyone can.
