Mercer/Jamestown fox squirrels

When I was a kid my grandfather and I would always head to Mercer and Jamestown to hunt our favorite game the fox squirrel. My grandfather passed away in 2000 from cancer and I lost my best hunting partner also in him. Now I want to take may kids up there to hunt but cant remember the spots. In Mercer all I can remember is a cheese factory outlet and we hunted a farm behind that across train tracks. In Jamestown all I can remember is a place he called the White Farm just because it was white lol not the owner name though. I know this is not much to go on but if anyone in these areas could help I would appreciate it. In the second season I'm taking a road trip to see if I can find these spots. Thank you

Re: Mercer/Jamestown fox squirrels

There are a couple of cheese factories on Rt 19 near Mercer. I know for sure there is one north of town and I THINK there is one south of town. Hope this helps.

My spelling is fine,It's my typing that ain't.That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Re: Mercer/Jamestown fox squirrels

I grew up in Greenville, hunted alot of farms around Jim Town and Greenville,I have not hunted that area for a long time.
I have alot of friends still in the area,I will see if I can get some info.
When I started hunting in 65 and up through Graduation, all we shot were Foxes, would not waste a shell on Greys, and God forbid if you got bringing any Greysb home with you!!!!
Good luck on your quest!!
