Grouse Opener!

Well it's been a long summer, but it's finally here. Who's going and where? What kind of dogs will you be using? Good luck to everyone!

It's breeding,training...and something unknown.

Re: Grouse Opener!

I will be heading up somewhere between lewistown and state college. We will be hunting over my 2 springers. Tomorrow morning can't come soon enough!

Re: Grouse Opener!

I'll try things out at Michaux State Forest with my two vizslas. It's no grouse hot spot but it is the closest to home. Good look everybody.

Re: Grouse Opener!

My Dad is coming here with his GSP and I can't wait. We've made some trips to NY already this year but it'll be nice to hunt around here. Hopefully this is the last season without a dog of my own. If all goes well I'll be bringing home a pup in a few weeks

Re: Grouse Opener!

In route to Tioga County with a poimting lab and my son. I will hunt Bradford County. My son is giving up a inline hunt to watch the dog. He is a mentor youth but loves to bird hunting and would rather watch the dog than sit in the treestand

There's hunting and there's hunting with a good dog

As Charles Barkley says, "I may be wrong, but I doubt it".

Re: Grouse Opener!

Dad and I had planned to head out for the 1st day of early muzzy season, but after a quick check of the weather decided to forgo the morning for some grouse hunting.

Going to be hunting some private land and SGL 69 in Crawford County over a young Chessy and a more experienced lab. Chessy has hunting hound written all over her!
