Well after a fun opening weekend of archery, it is time to grab the labs and flush some birds!! Bird hunting use to be my lifeblood and I am very happy my old labs are still around and in shape (river swimming) to get in a couple hunts with my boys...be taking John (14 ,the shooter) and Joey (8, once again carrying his plastic O/U) to a SGL stocked for the occassion and near their Pap's house.
Since we got only one gunner, we likely will invite any dogless kids with us again if we bump into them there. I'd rather have them hunting in line with us and my dogs, then not...give quick safety consult toall, and enjoy their company, it works.
BEST OF LUCK and safety to all organized youth hunts going on this Saturday. TAKE PICS AND POST EM UP!!! Since my oldest turned 12 this kind of became a family affair down at my parents place annually, but i still love to see the oragnized hunts, I use to LOVE to run those and see all those smiling kids.
GOD BLESS, BE WELL, HAVE FUN!!
