Chukar Challenge Help

Can someone with experience running dogs in a Chukar Challenge help me out? I have been wanting to go to one and I found one near by in February. I have no idea how they work or what to really expect, but I would like to be somewhat prepared.

In my experience they have 2 categories, pointers & flushers. You are timed in how long it takes you to harvest and have your birds delivered to hand. Missed shots and lost or missed birds are a time assessed penalties, best time wins.

Hope that helps.

GOOD LUCK !!

Be Safe &. shoot straight

I walked into one last year cold turkey. 15 minute time limit to flush, shoot, and retrieve to hand 3 birds that were placed for you. Never seeing it done I took my sweet time about it, something like 8 minutes. My cousin and his boy went after me, and by then we had it figured out. The kid was around 2:30, and finished in second place. I wouldn't hesitate to attend, and ask to run a later time to observe a few evolutions. Good luck!
