In the last 10 years I regularly hunted rabbits in Jefferson Hills/Clairton Area religously. Actually best rabbit hunting there was. Within walking distance of US Steel Clairton Works. Rabbits tasted like Coke Oven Gas, but there was tons of them. Also try any of the farms in Forward Twp. Most will let you hunt if you ask. In fact most are enrolled in the game co-op program. A few days of scouting on these farms and you will be into them.
I checked the game lands out last evening. Looks good for squirrles and bow hunting for deer. I was near the shooting range and it sounded like a war zone wich kind of turned me off. That said I'll prob. take the .22 and go for squirrles and stomp around there a bit more to see if I'd bring my dog there rabbits.
Patehrin24 - My hound is just a pup and I am just getting him started. He comes from good bloodlines and I have high hopes for him. I haven't had much luch getting Rabbitts in front of him, but I don't think it will take much to get him going.
MFK32 I live in New Kensington, PA I would recommend joining a local beagle club good safe place with lots of rabbits to get your pup started. There are a lot of of them in our area. Puketos is probably the closest to you. It is only about 5 minutes from my house.
