Chucker Hunting on Sunday?

I admit I should know the answer to this question but does anybody know if you can hunt Chukars on Sunday. They are not a game bird so I'm not sure of the answer. I couldn't find an answer in the guide.

Lynn, since Chukars are no longer classified as game birds they may be hunted 7 days a week.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

If you hunt Chukars on Sunday you are a heathen and your marriage will fail and deer will disappear.
When I train with chukars on Gamelands I will notify the land manager/warden just in case of any calls about illegal hunting.

I didn't realize that Chukars were once considered a game bird. How long ago was this?

Unless you are the lead dog, the view is always the same...

Careful there. I believe that's not allowed on any day of the week, but if I recall correctly, if you own 100 acres, even if It's right next to a stocked SGL and you do the paperwork, you can stock and shoot your pheasants on Sundays if you want, while hunters on the Game Lands next door are required to give their similarly stocked birds a legislated day of rest

Don't recall if chukars are included included in that exception or not.

If Sunday hunting was not already illegal, who among us would not laugh at making it so?

I can't give you the exact date but Chukars were classified as game birds up until the early 90s when the Commission declassified them as game birds. Prior to that you could only shoot Chukars on a regulated hunting grounds because there was no open season on them. Hungarian Partridge and Sharptail Grouse are still classified as game birds but have no open season and Huns can only be released and killed on a regulated hunting grounds as was one the case with Chukars. These laws were the result of attempts to introduce different game birds for hunting in PA but they did not take. The laws were never changed.

I think you become a non-commercial preserve. Not sure of the paperwork involved. Someone can correct me please.
