Re: Doves

No luck out here in Berks. Seems like they disappeared after Irene.

Re: Doves

I went out with my grandson on Monday and we got a few shots, just enough to make it interesting... No hits though. It seemed they were flying more with the rain threatening, but dove numbers are surely down this year.

Re: Doves

The sorgum field was loaded with them last Saturday then nothing! Maybe the cold weather shut them down

Re: Doves

I'm in SE PA. I went out for a little today between 2 and 4 when the heavy rain started. I shot at 2 and missed and should have shot at 3 more but hesitated because I thought they were too far away. I saw an additional 3 that were way out of range.. So that makes for 8 birds in 2 hours. Maybe it was the weather? If the weather is nicer I'll try again tomorrow.

Re: Doves

Soup,
Were you at the limerick/linfield gamelands or somewhere else out your way? I have been seeing a lot of dove down here in Delco but there is nowhere to hunt down here.

Do you prefer the linfield gamelands over the limerick gamelands for dove? At linfield I ussually see a couple up by the old brewery buildings or down by the powerline. Over at limerick they are there thick or not at all is my experience.

Have you ever heard all of the shooting off to the west nortwest while hunting dove at the linfield gamelands? Several times I have been there and heard what sounded like a war over behind the powerplant but more to the other side of the river. Is there somewhere else to hunt over that way?
