Was out myself Tuesday and put up 8. No reflushes, one was a group of 5 birds. The amount of fresh grouse tracks in the covers tells me that the pup and I still have some learning to do. My shooting was atrocious, thank God no one there to see. Did bag a female pheasant that was a good way from a stocking point.

Saw one while rabbit hunting in Erie County. It offered a great shot. Unfortunately, I wasn't sure if it was in season at the time so I passed on the shot.

Had very similar results in neighboring Forest County this past week...except my dog found the porcupine and had to visit the vet.

That grouse nat knows his stuff, hunted with him today and we moved 15 grouse. His shooting picked up as he limited out.

Plenty of scouting and good habitat makes for a great hunt.
