Thanksgiving day tradition

Who else goes small game hunting on Thanksgiving day morning? I haven't missed a morning since I was 12.. I'm 42 now and plan to have many more.. I'm lucky enough to have a wife who is a wonderful cook and doesn't want me near the kitchen that day...lol... I will be chasing pheasants and rabbits with my son... good luck to all that go out.. stay safe

Ill be out for squirrel from first light to about 10. Then I have to get cleaned up, shave and travel.

Listen, or your tongue will make you deaf.

"When a pine needle falls in the forest, the eagle sees it, the deer hears it, and the bear smells it."
an old First Nations saying

Not tradition, but my son just got in from college. He's home until Saturday. We're planning to do a squirrel hunt either tomorrow or maybe Thursday morning.

I missed a few years but I'll be out in the morning for an hour or two. To many cooks spoil the broth.

Used to. Now that I live in MD, I'm usually deer hunting on Thanksgiving.

I do love keeping up traditions. Enjoy!

I will be out with both my boys. I took my oldest out for an hour tonight and got one cockbird. Found some new areas on a gamelands to explore tomorrow

There's hunting and there's hunting with a good dog

My father and I just completed our Thanksgiving Day tradition. With crusty snow and frigid temps the dogs were able to get the rabbits up and moving but not much else.
