Great evening hunt.

Met my buddy this evening for a local pheasant hunt. I had a feeling they were going to stock, as they did last year on the first Tuesday.. When I arrived at the fields I was disappointed in that only 3 cars were there. A sure sign they hadn't stocked. Some guy pulled up and was talking to me while I waited for my friend. He said they did in fact stock the place and there had been 20 cars there earlier in the day. We headed into the fields anyway, not expecting to see much. Boy were we wrong. We probably flushed 15 birds(many were out of range, and alot were hens), and we each got our limit. What a great hunt. I was shocked that nobody was in the fields at all. The few cars that were there were all woods hunting. They must've pushed all the birds back into the fields. We even had three birds flush in the brush 20 feet from the parking lot on our way out.

Sounds like you must have been hunting in Allegheny or Washington counties! 😹

Only the owners of a GSP would truly understand, "If I fits, I sits".
