Zero grouse flushes so far

Hunted in Forbes state forest near the NWTF feedplot including a fenced area. Not one flush. The in SGL 51 no flushes. Not much food. Had my lab who covered ground and cover. Sad so far

Grouse hunting isn't like it was back in the 60's.

Yep , we hunted them last Saturday for over 3 hours, not one flush. Think I'm going back to hunting squirrels on the grouse opener from now on.

I moved 7 in 5 hours on Saturday. I hunted 4 different cuts and moved birds from each.

to warm barrels and cold noses

I'm feeling fortunate! Was up in NCPA, Sproul SF over the weekend. One hunter with one GSP. Friday morning we hunted 3.5hrs and had nine flushes. Saturday morning we hunted 3 hrs and had 7 flushes. Two birds in the bag. Also heard a fair amount of drumming over the weekend. Seems to be pockets of birds.
I agree bird counts are down from prior years.
