Hunting Grouse for over 55 years . Grouse have pretty much disappeared in my area of NE Pa. Does anyone know of a "Grouse Guide" available in Pennsylvania. Getting older, wouldn't mind , paying a person or " Grouse Guide "to show me some birds. Does anyone- Know someone? ? If so , Please let me know. Call Dan N. at 570-947-7666.

There are only 2 in the state...Roger Hoover and Russ Hittle...Also, the RGS hunt in St. Mary's uses huntsman...Chris Yeager used to run it...

There are far more than these 2 in the state and some have posted here over the years. Small game guiding does not have the requirements as Big game. Aren't you one of the guys that went with Chris on the last hunt?

Think before you share your thoughts!!!

Re: ruff hunters - north central pa

.Post was entered ,names , ..Roger Hoover and Russ Hittle, were mentioned as "Grouse Guides". I googled names , no help. Anyone have contact information Or location where these gentlemen reside.
What I am seeking is a 'Grouse Hunting Guide' for Pa. Or NY. For over Fifty years I have followed up on 'Tips'as to where Grouse are being encountered. Actual success rate of following UP on this information is small. Sure I have witnessed some very good Grouse hunting . But the prior four years have been disheartening. The 'Coal lands ' of NE Pa. , do not harbor the Birds as in years past. Few good years remaining, would like to spend the days encountering at least six to eight flushes daily. Birds that I actually see. Doesn't matter as to number I bag, Just want to see a number of birds each day. Tired of a six hour day and hearing one bird flush. Looking for a Grouse Guide !
