Looking to join a guy or two to stomp some fields for pheasants on Sat. opener in 5C Schnecksville # 205 gamelands.
Plenty of stocked birds...but no friends seem to want to hunt anymore. I ain't quittin chasing them birds but need more legs on the ground. Any avid hunters want to let me join them for a walk ? Live in Allentown ,experienced safe hunter reply or better yet call cell # (610) 393-9494

Thanks,
Jim C.

Oh, don't worry you'll be joined by plenty of other guys for sure on that gamelands for the opener.

You have to take a ticket for admission to that game land on opening day.

BTW my son and I were hunting chucks up there in April of this year. We walked up to a field and two cock birds walked out of the wood line 25 yards away. I was surprised to see two holdovers from last year.

That's pretty much how it is on every stocked parcel these days.

Yeah but how many would let a stranger comb a field with them? I've seen guys get into arguments with people who wanted to latch onto their group(and no it wasn't me). The only time I get upset is when either someone (as you well know) cuts us off in a field, or some lowlife will hang back and allow my friends dog to get birds up for them. We had a couple guys one year shoot at a bird that was right in front of us that my buddy's dog kicked up, yet they were about 30 yards to our left. I will get hot over that kind of crap. If it flew in front of them, then OK, but if your'e way over there, or even in another field, and its right in front of us, then hold your fire. Guys that do that are just scum bags in my book.

Yeah, they're all crowded to one degree or another but this is kinda notoriously so. Any stocked gameland immediately adjacent to a large city population are the most crowded.

I've traveled to other gamelands where locals have commented it's a "very crowded day" and if that same crowd was on #205 people would say "there weren't many hunters out today." I've run my dogs there on rare occasion in the off season but I really have no desire to hunt it again.

Last time I went there on opening day me and my dog got hit pretty hard, broke the skin on my finger. My old lab was gun shy after that. That was back when the fields were farmed and that group of sportsmen didn't care I was there. Now you really can't see very far.
I wouldn't go there on any Saturday let alone first day.
