Who else is getting jacked up for the pheasant opener?

I can't wait for Saturday. The pheasant opener is second only to the rifle deer opener for the excitement factor for me. I can't wait to get into those fields. Who else is pumped up for the opener?

Yeah I guess so. Funny though there will be more than crickets out in the fields come Saturday. And I'd bet the crickets here who haven't responded will be right there along side of me,. 109 views says something.

I will skip the opener and its associated craziness, but I will chase some with the hound on Monday morning.

I am ready. I have a few guys going with me and my dog on Saturday. Then on Monday I have a different guy going along. On Tuesday I have a youth to take out in the evening. On Wednesday a different youth in the evening. On Thursday one of our Wounded Warriors and his friend are coming up from York County to hunt. On the next Saturday I have another youth lined up to take out.

So yes I am pumped for the season. It also sounds like a few others are as well.

Of course I already had three youth out on the two Saturdays of the youth season. They all got at least one pheasant and one of them limited out. The ones that didn't limit out obviously had some bad ammunition that couldn't have had any bbs in them. Had 26 pheasants up in front of them and they did a good bit of shooting.

During the opener I'm pretty jacked up to hide under a rock somewhere safe hahaha. I do love getting out with my wife and my dog, but the opener is just too much pressure. Especially for my wife, who is relatively inexperienced in hunting. It's not fun for me because I'm always on edge about the sheer number of people around that I could be shooting towards, or could be shooting towards me. Sometimes I wonder if there is truly a safe direction to take a shot.
