1st Day Of Squirrel

Well I did go out 1st thing this morning because of the rain but at 1030 the sun came out. I got my gear on and grabbed the trustee 17 hmr and out back I went. Got to my favorite spot and got settled in. Was not long and the woods came alive. Took me 30 min and 7 shots to get my limit. The kid I was going to take with me didn't want to go because he was going to watch football. I stopped by his house and showed him what I got and he was so happy for me and bummed out because he didn't go along. I told him we got plenty of season left and they aren't going anywhere. Hope everyone had a good time in the woods and some luck as well.

Nice. I'm liking that black squirrel.

I wanted to go squirrel hunting, but went on a campout grouse hunt instead. We too didn't get into the woods until after 10:00 am due to the rain. We hunted for about 3 hours and didn't see a thing.

That was a quick limit! Rained here in the morning, steady 15 mph wind all afternoon. I went out and scouted for trapping locations. Iíll hunt them a few times this week.
