Rabbits and pheasants, 12 ga Winchester Super X, #6 shot. Same for squirrel when I hunted them. Grouse,28 ga. Estate low base #71/2 shot.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

I would use either Remington field loads in either 6, 7 or 8 shot in either 20 or 12 gauge

Standard high brass #6 shot out of a 12 gauge is my favorite all around small game load. Occassionally, I will bump up to #4 shot for pheasants. I prefer Remington ammo but have used high brass from most of the major manufacturers.

20 gauge 2.75 Remington express high brass #6 for rabbits and grouse. I've killed many squirrels with it but much prefer the .22 if I am targeting them. I have a very high wounding rate with the scattergun on squirrel.

20 gauge o/u
1 Oz of 6 in ic barrel
1 Oz of 5 in mod

Works for cottontail, pheasant, hare and squirrel. As elk yinzer stated, I prefer a .22 to the head for squirrel.
