What Pants?

I'm looking for a new pair of pants for grouse (if they come back, that is) and pheasant hunting. I got into some multiflora rose and it ripped some holes in my current pair. They are at the end of their life. I've already sewn-up some holes. What recommendations do you have?

Filson is ok if you only hunt a couple hours, after that, the thick cloth will have your legs worn out.

After years of trying everything possible, other than Filson, I finally settled on thin base layer(Dickies right now) that are 2 sizes to big for me; I can pull them up and take them off without opening them up. They are held up by suspenders. To turn brush, I have a thin pair of chaps, again sized extra big. This allows my legs freedom of movement, easy stepping up and over objects, without wearing them out. This wont turn away heavy thorns like MF rose, so I come home at the end of the day with marks on my legs, some days worse than others. But it keeps me out hunting 6-8 hours a day.

Plenty of scouting and good habitat makes for a great hunt.

I have been using the Cabela's Mens Upland Traditions the past two seasons. Found them to do pretty well. I like the lighter color to be able to spot ticks.

I have a pair of LoLo Upland Briar Pants made by Orvis. They work well in a thick briar patch....

Please feel free to stand in front of them....
