Where have all the rabbits gone?
I don't have a beagle but I never did and years ago I used to see and bag a lot more rabbits in Ne Ohio and NW Pa. than I do now.
There's a serious drop in rabbit sign around here.
Like just about everything else I like to hunt except for squirrels, deer and turkeys.

Going to get after them in the morning.

Don't seem to take many pics or vids though.

These future rabbit chasers have been keeping me busy though.

Cute little buggers. Hope to get out for my yearly bunny hunt next weekend.

Plenty of scouting and good habitat makes for a great hunt.

I don't hunt rabbits anymore, but saw more sign this past season than I have in a number of years.

Ok, I'll post one of a hunt from a few days ago. I was using my Ruger 10/22. Keep in mind while you are watching this that although it seems I missed a few times, in reality, I was simply clearing out some of the many saplings in that area first. Also it was about 50yds away, I was aiming for the head, my eyes were watering from the strong winds, and I didn't sleep well the night before.

Been out lots

I have to say I've been around to about 5 diff game lands in fall and winter. I see very little rabbit sign, and no rabbits. I know where to look and how to, they are just not there! Would love to bring some home to eat, but I think the only place that people are getting them is private land or farms. I'm getting a dog soon so maybe that will help. I don't see anyone out there except for deer or bird hunters anyway.

My son and I have been hitting it pretty hard. He starts a new job on 3/4/18 so he is off right now and I'm retired. We got 3 more on Thursday. All long chases with one rabbit making a very large circle. Unfortunately they were the only 3 we struck that day and we got all 3. There are definitely less rabbits in the areas we hunt this year but we are still getting plenty. Since photobucket changed I haven't posted a pic.
