Lake noximickion

I drove 90min to hunt here Saturday looking for rabbits mostly. Didn't really see any rabbit cover along 563 wound up hunting the gameland which was good. My question is is the rabbit/pheasant cover on the other side of the lake?

To me it looked like open Woods mostly. I didn't see thorny thickets, thick brush or honey suckle patches. I didn't drive much past the park office before deciding on gameland. Is there thick cover along the shore?

Yes, there is terrific bunny cover in the form of briar thickets, open fields with thick hedgerows. Cedar thickets hold a fair number of rabbits, too.

I saw none of that cover you mentioned is it North of the the park office? Or other side of the lake? Or do I just need to walk through the open Woods to get to it

Nah, if you can't see it from the road just keep driving until you do.

There is plenty of rabbitat there and plenty of bunnies as well. I run my bird dogs there frequently and we always see rabbits. You may have to do a little walking in some spots but the bunnies are there.

The hawks are killing everything.

Rabbits are what I have seen there, mind you never during hunting season, usually when I have the kids fishing! Buy yourself a comfortable pair of boots to cover some ground.
Good luck

keepin' it reel...

Thanks guys. Could I get general idea as to where to go? Like I said already a 90min just for me to get there. So general North side or Southeast side would be much appreciated. That way I can do more hunting and less looking for hunting cover. I'm not asking for anyone specific spot just general direction cuz as we know the lake is very big

A large portion of the huntable areas are closed on the south side of the lake due to ash tree harvesting. Stay along 563 passed the parking lot where you stopped to hunt the gamelands. All along 563 between the Tohickon boat launch and the Haycock boat launch has plenty of bunny cover. There are fields way in the back, if that is what you want to hunt. I recommend you stop at the park office and get a free map, also, very helpful.
