Youth pheasant hunt 12/16/17 new pictures added

I will have more pictures showing the dog work, we had a photographer taking pictures for us as soon as they are e-mailed to me I will post some. we had 13 kids, we had 3 no shows because of the weather I guess. The weather was 10 degrees in the morning and got into the 30s in the afternoon and we had snow the night before. We hunted with half the kids in the morning and the other half after lunch which was venison from a deer roasted on a spit with a ton of side dishes. We released 55 birds in all, all the kids got two or three birds. The kids below were from the afternoon hunt, there were tree girls and they could shoot, they are only holding two but they got three. Nice kids great parents a great day. Brandy was really tired, I heard he snore last evening on the couch for the first time, she covered a lot of ground and pointed a lot of birds and I was beyond tired. The hills in our fields get steeper every year. The date on the photo is wrong, I had to change batteries in my camera and forgot to enter a new date.

When you are up to your butt in alligators, it is hard to remember your intent was to drain the swamp. Stay focused!

Good job getting the youth hunters out. 10 degrees was a bit nippy in the morning.

I've spent most of my money on Waterfowling, Women and Whiskey.
The rest of my money I just wasted.

Great job they'll never forget it.

As Charles Barkley says, "I may be wrong, but I doubt it".

Pic #1 - ya gotta get a wing and a leg....otherwise you're looking at battling some flapping wings!!

Great pics, thanks for sharing. Kids look like they had a great time. Kudos to you and your club.

Yeah, he kinda lost control of that bird. That young guy saved my partner and I a whole lot of steps setting birds for us, usually we set the birds and run our dogs.

It was great that your club to hosted the youth hunt. It's nice to see the kids participating. (And on a personal level, I like seeing all the setters in the pics).
