Shorty Waters skeet range, Sunday mornings. He is off Rt 272 south of Willowstreet, Mt Pleasant road. Nothern Lancaster Sptms club, off 897 a few miles past Middle creek shoots skeet but I am not sure of the schedule, I am pretty sure they shoot Sunday as well.

Re: shootin clays?

Cocalico Sportsman club has trap & skeet houses. they shoot trap the second Sunday every month. I do not know the skeet schedule.

Northern Lancaster Sportsman club is a few miles from the Cocalico club. NLSC has 4 trap houses but the last I heard they were not shooting a regular schedule.

Hummelstown gun club was shooting sporting clays every Sunday, however I haven't been there for a few years.

Adamstown shoots trap the 1st Sunday.

just outside of Reading is Cacoosing gun club, they shoot sporting clays & skeet. not sure of their schedule but in the summer they also shoot on Thursday evenings.

Re: shootin clays?

I wouldn't recommend using the .410 to start a youth on shotgun sports. That is a master's gun. He'll get very frustrated. Better off starting him with a 28g semi, next would be a 20g semi. But, no matter which gun you choose, if he's under 100 lbs he will struggle handling the shotgun.

Re: shootin clays?

I agree, the .410 is a handicap for a new shooter.

Re: shootin clays?

My son is 10 and just started shooting trap with a mossberg SA-20 in the youth stock version. The gas semi makes recoil light. It came with 5 choke tubes. It was reasonable. I got it on black friday at a great price but even regular price it is reasonable.

Re: shootin clays?

well i agree on my son shootin clays with a 410, however he is very skinny and cant handle dad's gun yet. thinkin maybe just cans and clays on a post just to let him tear somethin up. i was thinkin in the future for him. see i just won an overunder on a raffle and am very excited to shoot movin targets. all i wanted yet was an OU and now have the essentials for wing shootin. but thank you all for the insight on my son with the 410. maybe i'll let him shoot it till he can handle a 20 ga. and where can you even get a 28 ga. and ammo for it??
