first pheasant chick hatched

my first ever hatch wooo one more should hatch out of that batch. then i have 53more due to hatch april 23. ive also collected in the past 4 days 2dozen eggs, from 9 hens. i also ordered 50 quail eggs for next week. incubator is gonna be full also im gonna get some day old chukar's (dont want to hatch them). im planning on getting my dog on lots of birds this year. hahaha

Wish I had the room for that. Looks like a rewarding hobby.

take real good care of them, pheasant chicks have a very high mortality rate. one of the hardest birds to raise.

my averege was about 60% survival with chics under 4 weeks

i bought 30 day old chicks last year lost 1 till i put them in the pen out side....then i found out i didnt do as good of job as i thought with the pen haha lost 3 more (2 got out and never found them) the other my parents couldnt catch them so the sicked the dog on it...ya dead bird. took me forever to work that out of him hahaha.
