Where Do Pheasants Get Stocked?

Maybe I should have worded that better, I know the SGL and State Parks are listed on the website.
But, the GC used to stock some private land that was open to hunting, I thought they had stoped doing that? Are all the birds put on the listed game lands and state parks, or do some make it to other areas?

I kill because I'm hunting, but killing is not the reason I go hunting.

Re: Where Do Pheasants Get Stocked?

I thought they were stocked in the ditches of major highways.

Actually, I don't know how many co-op lands get birds anymore. Wat5ched a fellow tossing some on a co-op probably 5 or 6 years ago. But I know of another co-op farm (with KILLER habitat) within a few miles of there that hasn't gotten birds for 10 years or so.

The land owner has to requesr them. There is a box to check on thier annual seedling order form.

Too often we enjoy the comfort of opinion, without the discomfort of thought.

Correct.

I believe he checks that box every year. It's not a big issue, I guess. But I see this land coming out of the co-op in the near future and the landowner will stock his own birds to be hunted by friends and family only.

Yep. Very interesting to look inside a game farm.
