GOOD LUCK GUYS

Well guys the time has come for grouse and woodies to be in season tomorrow. I plan on hunting through out the morning, and may hunt the evening. Depends on how tired that me or the dog are. I may opt out of the evening grouse hunt and go for a muzzle loader hunt, but think that the woodies in the area should be out in better numbers closer to dark.

Just wanted to say good luck on your hunts, and may the bird gods shine down. I hope to get a few shots on some grouse and my first ever shot on a woodie tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing some good pictures and hearing stories of great dog work.

Take care,

Mike

First ever shot on a woodie? I wish you the best of luck tomorrow! The first of any game is a thrilling experience for me. Shoot straight!

A bad day hunting rabbits beats a good day of anything else!

Re: GOOD LUCK GUYS

Yup, good luck out there tomorrow folks. I'll be packing up for Maine. All week I've been hitting every Tractor Supply I could looking for the 42" long Retriever brand crate. Today I tried the West Hazleton store with no luck but on the way back on 80 I had a grouse that flushed fly over the highway right in front of me. Gotta be a good sign. Stay safe and lead 'em.

Re: GOOD LUCK GUYS

The duck hunting should be great tomorrow morning. They are calling for rain before the cold front and falling temperatures all day and possible snow flurries in the evening.

The horizon is your starting point.

Re: GOOD LUCK GUYS

Well we flushed 3 woodcock and 3 grouse. Lilly worked awesome and flushed all but 1 bird. She is giving me a new clue and popping her head up and flying in like a jumping fox.

I should have had all of the woodcock as they were all wide open shots. And they flushed within 15-20 yards. The first grouse flushed on a wide open trail and flew straight away.

Had a blast. Relaxing with momma and corbin and watching babe pig in the city. Lilly and I need a break though as we hunted hard from 830-11.

Re: GOOD LUCK GUYS

We were into a grouse an hour on Saturday, enough to keep it interesting in between the rain, didn't move any woodcock
