The .02 cent squirrel call

Try this this year and see if you have any luck. It has worked for me a few times. The problem is forgetting to bring them along.

Re: The .02 cent squirrel call

I will say that I thought squirrel calls were a complete scam until I bought one and tried it. They work so good they should almost be illegal

Re: The .02 cent squirrel call

I've never seen it done quite like that before. The way I was showed was to put the coins (nickels or quarters work better than pennies) one on top of the other, laid flat between your thumb and forefinger and rub them together. I think it's a much more realistic nut chewing sound.
It does seem to have a calming effect on them, and can bring them out of hiding faster after they are spooked.

The Second Ammendment...
Its kind of a big deal.

Re: The .02 cent squirrel call

This is the one I made. Found two damaged pennies in a parking lot and had this broken caller body. My fingers don't get cramped using this one.

Re: The .02 cent squirrel call

Now that is pretty neat. It's a wonder someone didn't market something like this yet!

Jbiz, would you mind sharing the type of squirrel call you use?
