Anyone Seeing Any Doves?

A few weeks ago I had a bunch around the house and a bunch more at the gun club. Now...nothing.

I checked a few farms I hunt and again nothing.

I'll do that. I was hoping to locate some flocks before 9/1 but they seem to be getting scarce in the spots I hunt.

I haven't seen that many myself lately.

Re: Anyone Seeing Any Doves?

At my in-laws farm I can sit and watch all day and not see but a handful fly over. But right before dark I can watch piles of them fly over. I'm assuming they are going towards the mountain to roost but a good flyway to sit at for me.

I hunted coyotes before it was cool!

I have been seeing a lot in SWPA. Mostly around the house though. Nice groups of 6-10

I generally try to stick to quarries, they've always been my go to dove spots...

Re: Anyone Seeing Any Doves?

How would you get permission to hunt a quarry? Would seem like time wasted unless you are related to the owner.

Re: Anyone Seeing Any Doves?

I called the company and asked.... They actually already had a hunting program and a form that I fill out every year basically absolving them of any liability and then I get to hunt there. I could hunt there for anything I wanted to but I only go there for doves and crows. I'm sure most of the people that hunt there are employees, probably because most people wouldn't think to go and ask.

Re: Anyone Seeing Any Doves?

That sounds pretty legit I should check that with some of my local quarries. Thanks for responding.
