first grouse nest

Found the first grouse nest of the year this morning and was surprised to see 12 eggs I can't see how she is going to cover them all as some are barely in the nest cavity

I hope she does better than the turkey nest I found a week or so ago...had five eggs and now there is nothing left..not a shell, nothing but a depression in the browse cutting.

Re: first grouse nest

I heard turkey egg omeletts are popular in Bradford County. What kind of cheese did you use?

Re: first grouse nest

Turkey bacon???

Ever hear a turkey "oink oink"??

If you can fry up this so called "bacon" and have a pool of delicious grease to cook eggs in, it's just some yuppie feel good food, sorta like tofu. Not sure I'd even feed that stuff to a beagle!!!

Plenty of scouting and good habitat makes for a great hunt.
