Once per year I like to take the dogs out to Onpoint Outfitters for a hunt. It's nice to see a different area and get the dogs on some birds. I had a few birds put out but there were plenty of extras for the dogs to find. We put up about 15 pheasants (had 3 put out) and 8 quail (had 10 put out). It was windy out and I think that made finding some of the quail a little tougher. Some of the birds really ran today but more than enough held for some good dog work. I shot some of the birds but I didn't need to take them all. Here are some pictures from the day:

Nittany retrieving a pheasant:
Near the end of the hunt the dogs had a point in an area that was wet and had some small trees. Two roosters flushed and one came towards me on the other side of the trees. I shot and hit him but not very well. The dogs tracked the wounded bird and Blitz was pretty sure he was hiding under a fallen tree about 100 yards from where the bird went down.
Nittany wasn't as confident as Blitz and went deeper into the woods. From the top of the wood line I saw Nittany chasing a rooster around trees but the bird kept running and ran down a deep drop until I couldn't see the bird or Nittany. I walked towards them and I finally saw Nittany with the bird. We were about 300 yards away from where the bird first dropped. Here is Nittany bringing the bird back up:
This retrieve pretty much wiped Nittany out for the day. At this point we were out for about 4 hours. Nittany just walked beside me as we made our way back to the truck. He's 9 years old now and he is slowing down a little but he can still get the job done. Blitz had one more find as we got closer to the truck.
We just watched the rooster fly off and we were done. And tired.
Nice thread and pics, truthfully I'd have a tough time hunting there right now expecting Vince to pull up in the Gator with that grin or come out of the lodge.... But will again. he ain't the only one that worked so hard on that place.
