Tuesday was probablby the most exciting day I've ever had in spring gobbler season. We literally had birds around us from daylight until 8:00a.m. A nice Long beard coming in behind me while jakes approaching from the front. I've never experienced anything like it before. Although I rolled one without killing it( from rushing the shot) it still was one of the most amazing days afield we've ever had. Should have known it was gonna be a special day when a turk dropped a wet messy bomb on the receiver of my partners shotgun as we were walking into our spot at about 5:30. Truly there is just no sport like the spring season. Hopeful that they will still be around in the coming days.
