Re: Turkey calls

Use to collect turkey calls and had hundreds at one point.I met a lot of great callmakers and good guys to talk turkey hunting with. Now over the years downsized to around 150, and still carry many when taking my son out. lol

It's like jello there is always room for more.

Having one child makes you a parent; having two makes you a referee... Take your kid's hunting!!!

Re: Turkey calls

One year before the PA opener, I gathered up all the mouthcalls from the refridgerator door, washed them and tried each one. It's funny how they sound good one year and not the next or vice versa. Anyway, after the sorting process, I ended up throwing away 107 mouthcalls. No doubt some of them were 10 years old.

As for friction calls, I probably have 75-100. Some are hunting calls, some have sentimental value and a few are collector calls. I haven't bought any calls in the past 5 years or so.

Turkey calls are like guns, you can't have too many - unless your collection of mouthcalls doesn't allow room for the ketchup and salad dressing on the fridge door.

Re: Turkey calls

A whole drawer of calls 7 boxes, slate, aluminum, glass wishbone, 2 push buttons, 2 crow calls, 2 owl hotters, two gobbler calls and a freezer box of mouth calls.

In my hunting vest is two mouth calls, a crow call and one Lynch World Champion box call.

Called in my OH gobbler this week with 3 calls made with a mouth call.

First call no answer, second call saw him standing 60 yards out. He started in taking his good old time, he stopped at about 45 yards a final quite yelp and he SLOWLY approach to 26 yards.
