Smacked a Gobbler

Shot mine at 8am yesterday. Seen 7 birds all through out the morning. Started gobbling off the roost at 5:30. Shot him at
18yds and dropped him. 9inch beard and 1 inch spurs.

I guess i need the story behind the bird. Well the man who took me last year Johny Plewa a close family friend said he would take me a again this year. Picked me up at 4:30 and was set up by 5:30 listening to them gobble till about 6:30 when the first birds came out. We seen about 7 jakes all through the morning. Now its about 8 and Johny looks at me and says "I hate to do this but i got to go to the bathroom" so i laughed and said ok. No sooner does he turn around i look over and here comes the gobbler and a jake. Hes out there strutting his stuff and we throw a couple yelps his way and he makes a b line for the decoys. I say im going to shoot the first one (the jake) but he came in right behind the jake and sure enough he stops 18yds puffs up and then boom he was down. We were hugging and yelling. Was one of the best morning i've ever had.
Congrats to all other hunters
