0400 came was to early for me this morning, and we will throw in some rain for a bonus. She was up and getting dressed before the coffee was made. I knew where this guy was roosted, we put him to bed last night. We snuck in and set with a umbrella in hand. We stayed dry untill he gobbled at 0610. His 5 hens pitched down within 60 yds, and he was the last to hit the ground. The hens did not like what I had to say and they came to investigate with you know who in tow.
It took a while for them to work into range. But at 0740 she said I see him and have a good shot. I whispered to her " kill him" And she sent a load of the federal heviweight #7.
Great day in the wooks with the daughter, we were both soaked and will store this one away with the others.
Very cool! My daughter was interested in going this year, but she wasn't quite ready (she's 9). I look forward to hopefully having a hunt with her next year...but pics like this really are cool to see! It's great to see kids, especially the girls, out enjoying the sports we all love!
