I ran into a hen with about 8 little ones Saturday afternoon in 4B. Little ones were surprisingly pretty big, they all flew up 10 to 15 feet in the trees.

Saw a hen with 11 poults both yesterday and today while planting food plots in 2F. I also saw about a dozen poults take flight while I was fertilizing a food plot in unit 2H this evening. I didn't see the hen though I am sure she was in the high grass where she couldn't be seen.

Seen a hen with a decent group of poults at about 600 am this morning. Looked like about 10. This is my second set of poults I have seen this year.

Saw a strutter this afternoon following three hens across the road during a thunderstorm. As I was driving towards them, the thunder roared and he gobbled in the middle of the road.
They are still trying to make poults here.

Getting a bit concerned. Have not one hen with poults on my property and the neighbor reflected the same observation.

Saw 4 hens and one had 2 points. Sad. Seems the same every year down here in 2A. We have to many predators. I see bobcat ,coyotes and plenty of coons on my cameras. Doesn't help it rains all the time either.

A bad day in the woods is better than a good day at work!
