Dispersal Question

How far do turkeys travel or disperse once born? I think I’m becoming a “Turkey addict “ 😳

While trapping and banding turkeys we had gobblers that we trapped in February harvested the next spring as far as 15 miles from where we trapped them.

We had hens and poults moving over 12 miles from late August until being harvested in November. The record of those I trapped was a young hen that I banded in February of 2011 that was harvested 35.5 miles away in the fall of 2016.
