Something new today for me today in the turkey woods.

I have spring turkey hunted TX, MO, IN, MI, PA,OH and I had a first time occurrence today. Had my decoys out at a place I have taken 8 spring gobbler over the last few years in OH, calling to some distant gobbler when I saw movement coming into my decoys, hard to seen at first as it was using the brush etc. to it's advantage. Believing it is a turkey silhouette passing from cover to cove, I looked the other way for a second to see it there were any trailing turkeys I might spook if I had to move. Then I looked back and to my amazement there was a bobcat standing between me and my decoys.

He stood there I guess puzzled and then walked off. I made a hen call with my diagram call, but he walked off faster.

I have had 2 foxes, a coyote and now a bob cat come into my decoy spread.

Enjoyed the experience, as I did the when I saw 3 bobcats walk under my archery stand in KS and the 2 Lynx I saw while bear hunting in Canada. Wish I would have had my camera.

Pretty cool about the bobcat, but seeing lynx in Canada would knock my socks off! I've seen fisher, martin and moose while sitting bear baits in NB, but I'd give up a bear to see a lynx. Maybe this year.

Very cool stuff! I have had a coyotes attack my decoys before, but never a bobcat. I've had foxes and bobcats come through casually while deer hunting, but never turkey hunting. That definitely had to be neat to see it stalk in.

years ago i had a cat come in. stalking nice and low, then he must have known something was up, because he stopped, then started slowly walking backwards without ever turning around, just back-stalking nice and low the same way he came in, until he disappeared back into the foliage. pretty cool watching him in action, was only about 20 yds away at the time.
